Fantastic tutorial Taco - Thanks. To bad not all promotional sites are as well suited for this as the Simpsons - You would think they were more mindful of our needs :)

DarkSekhem 10-08-2007 12:13

Hey this is excellent.. I was just looking at a few web sites wondering how to get there nice nice images.. THanks Supreme Taco.

yeah, usually the cartoony type of website are full of them, like family guy, futurama, american dad, south park, etc. But even the regular movie websites usually have some nice stuff hidden in there. Titles, logos, and other stuff aren't uncommon. If you look at "Who's your Caddy" you can even get the credits in vector format.

FlyingDutchman 10-08-2007 15:25

gonna try this soon. thnx Supreme TAco!

00Daddio 10-08-2007 15:43

very nice tut Supreme Taco thanks a bunch

Supreme Taco 10-08-2007 18:00

np guys. I know there are other methods or programs as well. Perhaps aLTRe-eGo can shed some light on how he does it. It might be even easier, but I suspect he may be using trace to outline them.

amelandbor 10-08-2007 20:17

Wow, great tutorial. After searching days long for a TT i've managed it in a few minutes.

Thanks a lot

aLTRe-eGo does them mostly from scratch my friend. :)

aLTRe eGo 11-08-2007 02:15

I also try to find the original font to create them from! Fonts are vector -so it makes it a lot easier if font is available, if not, then I find the biggest picture I can find and overlap that with paths (vector based lines).

Supreme Taco 11-08-2007 17:04

yeah, finding the fonts are nice. but i find that most people don't find the correct one and just settle with something similar. A lot of your titles are available from the websites, so I assumed you were extracting them.

If you are drawing vectors, do you use a graphics tablet? I also occasionally find large images and try to trace them out by hand, but with a mouse it can be a pain. I didn't know if graphics tablets worked with corel draw or if they were worth the investment.

aLTRe eGo 13-08-2007 10:50

nah, just a lot of guides and straight lines and bend the tabes to get the curves I want.

Nightrider 13-08-2007 16:15

Always looking to learn, many thnaks.

ripper 13-08-2007 17:41

This is very cool indeed, messing around with this you can export non-vector images too from flash, save as .png for a color image, transparent background, (obviously low res), great tutorial ST, many thanks for taking the time :D

Nightrider 15-08-2007 08:36

Had a chance now to have a very little play, following the tutorial of course, and I have to say a great many thanks to you Supreme Taco, looks like it will be fun to learn this as well as being a fantastic resource. Indeed you are Supreme :)
