Nice TT, but the hash going through the O is a bit rough looking. I think I know what you've done though. Don't take me wrong, I'm not complaining, but if you want to know for future TT's, blow up the thing you're extracting before you do it (by about 300%), then promote the layer from background and use the magic wand to remove everything around it (rather than selecting the object from the inside), then copy/paste onto a font (in this case, not all) and shrink the enlarged extraction to fit. You'll find the edges aren't as rough using this method.

Daedalus,
I appreciate what you have said here. And by no means did I take you wrong. I made this quite some time ago, and have since learned a better way of doing it. When I made the cross through the "O", I used the pen tool to create a path around the cross and then created a custom shape from it. Which in all aspects should have worked. The problem I have noticed with this method is that as the shape is made bigger, it seems to cause the effect you are talking about. I also believe (but I am not certain) that I made the shape from the smaller image that I had, instead of enlarging it first (which would have made a difference). I also had some font issues when I recreated this, that gave me a "close enough for government work" attitude about it. I would have remade this in a better fashion, but due to the overwhelming lack of interest (ha ha) I figured my time would be better served on something else. |
