During an Impromptu trip to Europe to mend a broken heart, Frank Taylor (Johnny Depp) unexpectedly finds himself in a flirtatious encounter with the extraordinarily beautiful Elise (Angelina Jolie). What Frank fails to realise is that this playful dalliance with a stranger is deliberate, and as their whirlwind romance evolves Frank is thrust into a deadly game of cat and mouse against the breathtaking backdrops of Paris and Venice.
