Arena Round 1

Ok folks the moment you have been waiting for ROUND 1. Here are the rules:

1. The artist may choose any movie from 1980 thru 1989.
2. There can not be a custom already on the site for the movie.
3. The cover must be new and not one that the artist has already done.

Each contestant will be assigned a number at the first round voting poll and that number shall be theirs thru out the entire competetion.

The first round entries must be turned in by Wed. April 9th 6pm GMT

All entries must be submitted to info@customaniacs.org in 1 rar file and must contain 1 standard cover, 1 thin cover, and 1 label. Also the rar file must have in the filename contestants name for example "memberX_Film title.rar" Your thin should be a direct conversion of your standard cover.

Good Luck everyone now lets get it on

00Daddio 30-03-2008 20:23

I had better clarify something for the jokesters in the group NO X-Rated material. LOL

Trixerbell 30-03-2008 20:29

but if i stick my arse on a cover of my uni years then surely i could win - dam you evil ffiends not letting x rated in

D4nY 30-03-2008 20:32

Need "X" in filename?

D4nYx_Movie Title.rar?

or...

D4nY_Movie Title.rar?

Donnie 30-03-2008 20:33

well I'm out never seen a movie between 1980 and 1989, so have no clue

nadaone 30-03-2008 20:33

What if on the site there isn't custom cover but there is custom label ??
Is still a valid movie for the contest???

Im fairly sure you'd be blind afterwards and wouldntbe able to judge the rest of the comp fairly - so thats a deal maker :D

oh - its member judged .... are well

celm02 30-03-2008 21:26

Wow, i gotta admit i thought it would be slightly more specific guys. Oh well, this is going to be very interesting indeed, best of luck everyone.

MrHenryDog 30-03-2008 21:31

i have been asked , and can confirm that the thinpak is a straight conversion of your main cover. NOT a different version.
00dadio will edit the first post to confim this shortly

celm02 30-03-2008 21:38

Also guys, what's the deal with movies like Halloween 4, Friday the 13th 3 etc. that are here as part of a collection, but don't have a singular custom?

That would be fine to do however folks will eventually want your matching covers for the rest of the series so you would be somewhat obligated to complete those after the comp.

Boonsaint 30-03-2008 22:00

What if its a movie from 1980-1989 that doesnt have a custom on site but is part of a trilogy and the trilogy has a custom spacesaver? e.g no retreat no surrender?

Donnie 30-03-2008 22:03

What if the movie you want to do was made in 1989 but came out in 1990?

I'd say same as OOd's answer prior.

Boonsaint 30-03-2008 22:18

I'm not being an arse I swear, another questions has occured to me thats all. What if there is a cover already on site but your specifically making a cover for an extended edition or directors cut? or does it only matter if the movie itself is on site in a single cover format?

HelloShaun 30-03-2008 22:25

Yeah lets keep it to the film itself so that includes any extended, 2 disc, anniversary blablabla editions

are you guys trying to bust my chops? LOL No extended edition B.S. if the cover exist as a single film custom than its a no go.

MrHenryDog 30-03-2008 23:16

jeeeeeeeeeeez you try and keep thing simple and..

MrHenryDog 30-03-2008 23:17

got my choice narrowed down to 29 :)

MrHenryDog 31-03-2008 00:04

ok another question that need clearing up

i take it that "a cover that doesn't already have a custom on site" only applies up until 6pm today.
if i start making a cover then in 7 days someone ups a custom i dont want it disqualifying

Sorry dude, just want to check. If there no custom at all on site, then can i do a directors cut, just that the director cut fills some more space and saves me having to think

DarthVong 31-03-2008 02:02

Are You Not Entertained!!!

Donnie 31-03-2008 03:19

ok but what if a cover is on site, but you want to make a cartoon cover for the movie, or the cover on site is really bad, no wait that would be the on I do, ok forget that one.

Donnie 31-03-2008 03:23

Oh wait ok was thinking, what if the movie I want to do has no art, but I use art from anothe movie that is on site, but I change the title to the movie I want to make. Good Right

Donnie 31-03-2008 03:33

And if someone understands what the hell I was talking about. please let me know
Thank You Very Much

Dweez 31-03-2008 05:01

Have you been drinking this evening, Donnie? :P

Sithlord82 31-03-2008 10:25

i hate you:bllll:

DarthVong 31-03-2008 23:26

Im done too, at least with the standard size. Thinpak and label to be done shortly. WOO HOO!

celm02 01-04-2008 00:53

I'm getting there. As soon as I finish a cover i usually wait a few days before uploading, as there's always something i'm not 100% happy with. I go back to uni on monday, so i've got the rest of the week, and a lot of late nights i guess.

Nemesis_Enforcer 01-04-2008 02:25

Almost there, which is good, I can use more time to tweak and perfect the piece.

I have to 'get rid' of mine straight away, otherwise I tweak and tweak and mess and mess and before long its a completely different cover, and normally worse than what it started out as!

ooh Celm just noticed you are from Beccles, do they still have the open air swimming pool there?

Kampar 01-04-2008 10:20

Damn - you guys must have been up all night, I only just got started !

chillseeker 01-04-2008 12:48

lol, I haven't even chosen a movie yet :)

00Daddio 01-04-2008 18:34

Do not their jedi mind tricks affect you folks.
